Me and baby "Dos" at 30 weeks. The countdown has begun! Only 10 weeks to go....I am so anxious to meet our new little boy.

This is a rare moment.....Graham cuddling with Mama.....or should I say Graham cuddling at all!


Here's a pic of Graham's stitches. For anyone who did not get to hear this story yet, he fell over some climbing bars at the park and busted his lip open a couple weeks ago. 7 stitches! He was very brave about the whole thing. Later when he got the stitches out, the doctor put them on a piece of tape and taped them to a tongue depressor. It was like a badge of honor for a two-year old!

Haagen-Dazs

So.....we usually don't eat this ice cream, even though I think it's just about the best. The only time we keep it around is if there's a prego woman in the house. My favorite is the chocolate peanut butter. I was looking through "America's Worst Supermarket Foods" on MSN online and they were listing the most unhealthy things you can buy at the supermarket. Guess what landed at number 15?

I'm gonna feed this little boy some Haagen-Dazs Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream! (He's got some growing to do anyway, right?) And maybe I'll have a McDonald's Double Cheeseburger too! Bring it ON!!

Spelling Bee

So yesterday when I got home from work I was antsy and wanted to get outside so I asked Natalie, "Do you want to go to the P-A-R-K?"
Graham answered, "I wanna go to the park."
So the boy genius can spell already, at 2 1/2!

Then last night after small group, I find this on the refrigerator:

He really is a genius that can spell! I just can't figure out how he got it eye level for someone about 5'2".....

27 Weeks

Heartburn is no match for a Costco-sized bottle of TUMS!! Welcome to third trimester! I'll take this over nausea any day, though.

Updates on "Dos" (I have a name all picked out for him, just trying to get Eric on board):

* We will be delivering at Chandler Regional Hospital, as we did with Graham. This is a praise as baby boy will not be needing emergency surgery. We have met the NICU staff over there and everyone was very welcoming and encouraging.

* We have doc. appointments just about every week, which is starting to get to me. However, we are so thankful for good care and for good INSURANCE!!! Starting at 32 weeks, they will do twice weekly monitoring.

* Baby "Dos" is just as happy as can be inside Mama. He frequently moves and has given his Mama much bigger kicks than Graham ever did!

We asked for another child and God has given us a huge blessing in this little boy. All of this has caused us to trust Him like never before, knowing that this baby boy will be a blessing to this family no matter what. After reading the story of David and Goliath this week for our home group study, I am again reminded that God can and does do many things that are unexpected. We are praying for this baby's heart to be completely healed; that the walls of his heart would grow together, allowing it to work as it should. We are also praying that this little boy is not born with DS. These things would definitely be "unexpected" to the doctors. What a miracle it would be to witness!

Do you know how many verses in the Bible begin with "Do not fear"?? We are naturally fearful creatures, and I am certainly no exception! There are many people watching us go through this. I often wonder, "Are we bringing glory to God as we walk through these things?" "Do people see us and wonder how we can have such peace?" "Am I pointing to Christ when I respond to them?" I pray that they do and certainly not so we can look good. Jesus has completely changed our lives; His sacrifice for our sins allows us to have relationship with him while we are here on earth and do what we were intended to do, bring glory and honor to Him! Both Eric and I pray that anyone who sees us would see Him through us. Oh God, may this suffering not be in vain. May it bring glory to You, who deserves all the praise!

Mama: Graham, come here. Mama needs to wipe your nose.

Graham: (running away) No.

Mama: Graham, what do you do when Mama says "Come here."?

Graham: I do this! (and with that he wipes the slimy snot on his sleeve)


I know I did not teach him this. Hmmmmm.....

Painting and other Grammy things

Graham got to finally sleep in his big boy bed this weekend. We were worried that he'd have a hard transition, but he was great! He was so excited to lay down in his bed, and he just stayed there and fell asleep after awhile. In the morning , even though we told him to stay in his bed until we came and got him up, we heard little pitter patter feet down the hallway to our door! So funny! He loved the new found freedom! We're still working on staying in bed when we wake up...

When I was a boy, and still the other day, I watched Bob Ross on PBS at 730 on Saturday morning. Graham watched with me a few weeks ago, and today he got to be Bob Ross, and make "happy little clouds".

It started out innocent enough.....

Ok, so one more little story that is very unflattering. Graham played in his sandbox in nothing but a diaper and put sand down his diaper. Then he pooped. He didn't seem to care about it, probably because he'd have to go inside to get changed. Usually he does care though, but not this time. When it was time to come inside, I carried him up to the bath and took off his diaper in the tub. Inside were two little turds covered in sand. Very uncomfotable I'm sure. Just for added imagery, they looked like cinnamon and sugar covered doughnut holes. Just remember that the next time you feel like going to Dunkin Donuts and you may just stick to your diet. That is our gift to you.

Lost without my family

Natalie and Graham are in California without me. They've been there since Thursday night. I am so bored.

I did find some interesting things living in our couch though:

1. 2 pennies (score!)
2. a working lighter (um, we don't smoke)
3. a plastic screwdriver
4. 2 pounds of sand (well, it seemed like that much)
5. Batman

I was thinking about what Dyson's slogan should be (we got a new vacuum for Christmas). Here's what I came up with:

1. Dyson- our vacuums really suck.




2. Dyson- You thought your floors were clean.

Graham says "Play puzzle daddy?" "I help play puzzle daddy." To his credit we only lost 1 piece in the 2 weeks that puzzle was on the table, and I'm not sure that we were responsible for losing it.
